APPOINTMENTS

LOCATION

Our mobile-based studios are designed to be convenient for our clients. All clients will meet up at the conference room or workspace for  safety and security purposes. At the meeting area will be in the conference room of Midland Falls, Address, 6029 Flat Rock Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. We are willing to meet you at your place of choice but the place must meet the criteria for the service and there will be a $25 trip charge within a 5 miles radius of Columbus, Georgia. Please visit our contact page for more information.

48 HOUR CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY

All appointments require a deposit (although some special offer exclusions apply). I operate under a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you cancel or reschedule your appointment with more than 48 hours notice, your deposit is refundable or transferable to another date. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date. I would require another deposit to book a new appointment. If you have a gift voucher and you don’t adhere to the 48 hour cancellation policy, a new deposit will also be required to book another appointment. There are no exceptions to this.

LATENESS

There is a 15-minute grace period from the start of your appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late and there is another appointment scheduled afterward, I cannot proceed with yours, and your deposit will not be refunded or transferred. You'll need to make a new deposit to book another appointment. If you have a gift voucher, a new deposit is also required to make another booking. No exceptions apply.

PAYMENTS

All appointments require a deposit which is taken at checkout when booking your appointment. The deposit can be paid by PayPal, Credit/Debit Card, or Afterpay. There are two options for paying the remaining balance of your finished keepsake:

  1. One-off: a lump sum payment of the total cost of your keepsake (minus booking deposit) due on the day of your appointment.

  2. Half Now, Half Later: 50% of the total cost of your keepsake (minus booking deposit) on the day of your appointment, and the remaining balance due when your keepsake is ready for collection.

Payment can be made in cash, or online via internet banking or credit/debit card.

COLLECTION

All life castings take approximately 3-6 weeks to complete depending on the finishing touches selection. There are multiple stages of refining involved and from appointment to completion it is a lengthy process. While I aim to achieve the 3-6 weeks turnover, this can fluctuate and be slightly longer at times. If you have asked me to have your cast ready before 3-6 for a special occasion, I will try my very best to, but this can’t be guaranteed, and I cannot accept responsibility if this deadline isn’t met.

I will inform you by email or phone when your sculptures are ready. Please keep your contact details updated. Collect your sculpture within 2 weeks to avoid damage; I can store it for free for up to 4 weeks if needed. After that, a storage fee of 10% of the item's value per month will apply. If not collected within a year, the sculpture becomes Lifecast Studio's property, and all payments are lost.

HAND CAST  AFTERCARE

To ensure your keepsake lasts a lifetime, follow these care tips:

  • wash and dry your hands before touching freestanding casts
  • keep it out of direct sunlight
  • keep it away from extreme temperature fluctuations
  • keep it away from heat, water, and areas with high moisture levels
  • dust regularly, using a duster or soft cloth

HAND CAST REPAIRS

If your keepsake needs repair, please contact me right away to explain the issue so we can discuss how to fix it. Accidents happen, and I'm here to help. Please note that there will be costs for repair work, unless it was my fault, in which in that case I'll cover the expenses.

RETURNS/RECASTING

Returns are accepted only for significant flaws. If you notice anything that detracts from your piece's beauty, please email me to discuss it. Your satisfaction is important, and I'll do my best to achieve that. If a repair is unsatisfactory, I may offer to recast (which might incur a fee) or provide a partial refund. Each piece is handmade, so some irregularities are common. Imperfections, air bubbles, water lines, signs of repairs, and color variations may occur.

If you are unhappy with your keepsake due to factors outside my control, like a baby’s finger position or hands changing position during the casting, this is usually noticed after the appointment and when the cast is revealed. A recasting fee of $ 75 will be applied.

All products are final sale. If the casting is deemed defective due to studio error, the studio will remake the product at no charge.

YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY

I care about your health and safety. The materials I use are safe, and I always explain the process fully before you get started. If you want to know more before your appointment, please reach out. I work hard to reduce any risk of injury or discomfort while you are with me. However, it's important to understand the following before you agree to participate:

  • The process involves touching the area being cast.
  • The process uses different temperatures, including warm and cold materials. It should never be uncomfortable or cause burns.
  • The process involves applying materials directly to your skin. This includes a safe, seaweed-based casting gel often used in medical settings, and also water, Sorbolene moisturizer, and water-based baby wipes.
  • Removing casting material from the skin is gentle and painless. It may cause temporary redness that will fade naturally within a few minutes.
  • Staying still during the casting process can make some people feel lightheaded or faint, especially if they have health issues or are pregnant. Please let me know in advance if you have any health conditions that could affect your ability to remain still.
  • The casting room floor can be slippery. Please be careful when moving around.
  • The casting studio is in a conference room, which has risks like stairs, electric sockets, and trip hazards. Please move carefully and keep children in sight during your visit.

I reserve the right to refuse any hand casting service request that I believe, in my sole discretion, goes against my personal moral or ethical values. This includes but is not limited to requests involving offensive, inappropriate, or harmful subject matter. Such decisions will be made respectfully and without obligation to provide further explanation.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
